Insurance Society of Baltimore Scholarship Fund

In conjunction with the University of Baltimore, the Insurance Society of Baltimore (ISOB) has established a scholarship program to encourage students to pursue a career in the insurance industry. The scholarship will be awarded annually to deserving students working toward their Bachelor’s degree and enrolled in Finance 420, Risk Management and Insurance. In addition, eligibility will require that recipients must be either currently working in the insurance industry or have applied for internship with a property-casualty insurance company or agency.

Initially, the scholarship is funded by contributions from the Insurance Society of Baltimore and the Maryland Chapter, Society of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU). It is ISOB’s goal to expand the program with additional support from local insurance companies and agencies. The expanded program will allow additional scholarships to be awarded each year.

The amount of the scholarship will vary from year to year with the first year’s award being $4,500.00 awarded to one or more students who have a demonstrated financial need.
